Custom designed camshafts for automotive applications have been at the heart of Andrew Products since 1972. We can design and manufacture numerous types of camshafts and specialize in providing prototype, pilot runs and low volume quantities to support engine technology development.
Custom Cam Design
Andrews Products can provide finished cam designs and quick turn around. Cam design service also includes reverse engineering where original calculations are no longer available. Manufacturing files and/or master cams can be provided for new designs. Andrews engineers can work as an integrated team effort to support development of your prototypes and experimental camshafts. We have the capability to work with customer concepts and specifications to support engine development programs.
Contract Cam Inspection
If you need camshafts inspected on a contract basis Andrews Products has that capabililty. All cam inspections are perfomed on Adcole 911 camshaft gages that can accomodate camshafts to 24 inches in length. Measurement resolution is .00001 inches (ten millionths) for lift and .001 degree for angles. Cam inspections include bearing journal diameter measurements and overall shaft straightness. All camshaft measurements filter out shaft eccentricity before lobes are measured. Our 911 gages are operated in a temperature controlled inspection room and are periodically calibrated by Adcole.
Custom Camshaft Design Support
Andrews Products has the unique capability to design and manufacture camshafts from 2 inches in length to 44 inches. Cam lobes and any related gear parts are then subjected to a complete computerized inspection for assurance that all designated parameters match target specifications. Our processes from design assistance through manufacturing enhance the efficient delivery of prototype and pilot runs of cams to support major engine design and development programs.
